Marine Electric Systems recently installed a full electronics upgrade package on a Cabo 45 which included two Garmin GPSmap 8622s, autopilot, radar, sounder, engine room cameras, VIRB camera, Fusion stereo, Lumishore under water lights.
Here is a before shot of the bridge before we started our work.
Old Bridge layout with out dated electronics
Under the bridge components
All of these older electronics and wiring were removed and disposed of to make room for all the new systems that were going into place. Once all of this was removed the helm was re-glassed so we could have a fresh start to mount the new Garmin GPSmap 8622's, Fusion Apollo head unit, and autopilot controller.
Once these screens were in place we could start mounting our other components under the helm, such as course computer, sounder module, wet sounds amp, Garmin network expanders along with all the cabling to power and connect these systems.
To top this Garmin package off with installed a Fantom 6 foot open array radar, with plenty of power.
With the radar up top allowing to see far ahead we installed a Airmar R111LH in hull transducer to see beneath the vessel
With this full Garmin package installed we included some pretty cool add on features, we connected the HDMI in/out on the GPSmap 8622's to the vessel entertainment system to allow the TV to be played on the bridge and navigation screens to be visible on the saloon TV screen.
We also installed Lumishore under water lights and control module with Garmin network adapter. This allows the lights to be controlled from the bridge on the Garmin Screens. We also were able to tie the lights into the stereo system to they blink strobe and fade to the beat of the music!
Further more we added two engine room cameras to alow monitoring of the engine room from the bridge, we also installed an aft facing Garmin VIRB camera withc can be controlled through the Garmin screens to capture any action that happens on deck!
With this system installed this customer is ready to head off shore in style!
