Hanse 458
Project Description:
Marine Electric Systems completed a full electrical and electronics refit aboard this Hanse 458, transforming it into a modern, energy-efficient cruising platform.
Electronics Package:
This vessel received a full B&G navigation suite, including Zeus multifunction displays, Hercules performance processor, autopilot, and WS310 wind sensors—delivering precise sailing data and smooth integration across all instruments.
Electrical System Upgrade:
The DC and AC systems were completely rebuilt around Victron Energy components, featuring a Multiplus II inverter/charger, Cerbo GX with Touch 70 display, and a balancing transformer for shore power management. Power is provided by a 1,200 Ah Epoch lithium battery bank, charged underway by an Arco Zeus high-output alternator regulator.
This system provides enough capacity and inverter power to run the vessel’s 12,000 BTU V-berth air conditioner directly from the house batteries, offering quiet, generator-free comfort at anchor.
Integrated Monitoring:
The Cerbo GX is fully networked into the B&G system, allowing complete vessel-wide electrical monitoring and control right from the helm—a seamless fusion of navigation, comfort, and power management.
This project highlights Marine Electric Systems’ expertise in integrating advanced navigation and electrical technologies to create efficient, self-sustaining systems for modern cruising yachts.
