Hylas 54

Project Description:

Marine Electric Systems carried out a comprehensive electrical refit aboard this Hylas 54, bringing the vessel’s power system to modern cruising standards with high-capacity lithium storage, advanced charging, and fully renewed wiring.

Lithium Power Bank:
The heart of the new system is a 1,840 amp-hour Epoch lithium battery bank (4 × 460Ah modules), delivering massive capacity for extended off-grid operation with exceptional efficiency and safety.

Charging and Inverter Power:
Charging and inverter capability were overhauled with a pair of Victron 5,000-watt Quattro inverter/chargers, providing 10,000 watts of inverter power and 400 amps of DC charging capacity. A 275-amp Arco Zeus high-output alternator with a Zeus smart regulator ensures rapid, intelligent charging underway.

Primary System Rewire:
The project included a complete AC and DC primary rewire, bringing all circuits up to ABYC standards and ensuring long-term reliability, serviceability, and system clarity.

This Hylas 54 now features a state-of-the-art electrical foundation capable of supporting high onboard loads, silent operation, and true energy independence—another example of Marine Electric Systems’ commitment to modern, robust marine power design.
