Recently, SEA AI released software updates for its AI-driven devices.
SEA.AI detects and classifies objects, including those that escape conventional systems such as Radar or AIS. The addition of SEA.AI systems enhances maritime situational awareness, acting as a formidable ally to the capabilities of these established technologies.
Recently, SEA AI released software updates for its AI-driven devices, bringing significant improvements to object detection, classification, and collision avoidance. Keep reading to see what’s new!
Classification Improvements for SEA.AI Sentry and Brain
The classification algorithm in Sentry has been significantly enhanced, delivering much higher accuracy when assigning classes to detected objects. This means you can trust the system to correctly identify what’s around you, reducing uncertainty and improving situational awareness during navigation.
For the SEA.AI Brain, object classification is now available, bringing the same advanced algorithm already used in other SEA.AI products. With this update, Brain not only detects objects but also identifies what they are, providing a more comprehensive understanding of your surroundings. This added intelligence helps you navigate with greater confidence and make faster, more informed decisions.
New Collision Avoidance Alarms
SEA AI’s collision avoidance system uses an external unit, typically mounted at the highest point on the ship. This unit is equipped with two high-resolution daylight cameras that can operate in the lowest light and contrast conditions. Additionally, it features two thermal cameras, which enable SEA.AI to operate effectively at night. The cameras are both gyro- and digitally stabilized to provide a constant 360° view around the vessel.
Today, collision avoidance has become even more intelligent on both SEA.AI Sentry and SEA.AI Brain. In addition to distance and alarm lines, both systems now factor in object size and bearing when assessing threats. This refined logic means alarms are triggered only when necessary, reducing false alerts and ensuring you’re warned at the right time.
Camera Configuration Options
A new setting allows you to configure the camera’s default inclination in rotating modes during land operations.
This flexibility ensures optimal camera positioning for various environments, thereby improving detection accuracy and enhancing the efficiency of land-based monitoring.
